Pentecost

Dust off your Reds, Oranges, Yellows, and FLAMES and wear them to Worship!
On May 26th and 27th we will celebrate Pentecost.
Pentecost has been called the birthday of the Church, but it is so much more. It is not just the celebration of the Holy Spirit’s creation of the Church, but the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the Church today among us.
As part of our celebration, together we will invite the Holy Spirit into our midst to move in new and exciting ways. We will ask you to consider how you can offer your very life to the work we share together as the risen Lord’s Church in the world. As you prepare for our Pentecost celebration there are some questions we want you to consider:
1. What are the gifts that God has given me? Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Just look within and see the ways that the Holy Spirit has blessed you as a member of the Church. Don’t be modest- be honest.
2. How can I use the gifts that God has given me for the sake of our life together as the Church and for the sake of Christ’s mission in the world? Gifts are not meant to be hidden away but used and shared with others.
3. Where are the growing edges in my life that I need the Spirit to help me with in the coming year. The Spirit of God calls us to grow in faith and life and this is your opportunity to respond to the calling of the Spirit.
4. How can I affirm others in their life in the community? We all need encouragement as we live the life of the Spirit together.
5. At Pentecost we will once more consider what it means to be a member of the Church. We are not just attendees or consumers- but disciples called into life together as the body of Christ. The Spirit did not just move thousands of years ago - the Spirit is alive among us today, calling forth a living breathing Church of many members.
You are the body of Christ and individually members of it. This Pentecost and throughout the coming year may this body of Christ find new life as we live together in the promise of a God that turns dead ends into new beginnings.
Trinity's Vacation Bible Experience
Save the Date - Trinity's VBS Week
July 30th - August 3rd, 2012
Sky VBS will help kids discover God’s Word in a fun and unforgettable way! Each day, kids learn a single Bible Point that is reinforced with a Bible verse and Bible story–which makes it super easy to teach and simple enough that your kids will remember what they learned.
Kids really do learn best through interactive experiences–and that’s why you’ll love Group’s Sky VBS! Each day, your kids will rotate through activity stations with their Flight Crews (small groups)–which are designed to reinforce the Bible Point of that day in a hands-on, fun way.
Each part of Sky VBS is intentionally designed to connect your kids to God, create change in their hearts and provide them with actionable ways to share God's love with others. After a week at Sky VBS, your kids will be equipped to live out their faith, taking home what they learned–and share God’s amazing love with their family and friends!
