Pastor David Schoob

Pastor David Schoob
David Schoob has served as a pastor in the ELCA for almost 24 years.  He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carthage College in Religion, Psychology, and Philosophy.  He holds a Masters of Divinity from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago and a Doctorate of Ministry from there as well.  He was ordained in 1984 and has served a number of rural and suburban congregations.

Dave is deeply committed to the work of Christian care and does much the visitation for the congregation.  He also believes that faith must be active in love and so he works with the social outreach groups in the congregation as well.  Dave loves to teach and so leads many of the study groups and small  gatherings.  Worship is a joy and the worship leading and preaching are shared between Cris and Dave.  Dave is also active in the broader work of the Church and serves on the Greater Milwaukee Synod Anti-racism team.

Dave’s family is one of his greatest joys and he loves to spend time with his sons Curt and Nick and is blessed to be able to serve in the same congregation as his wife Cristy.  Dave has worked with his sons athletic teams as an assistant coach and has been active in helping out at their schools over the years.

Dave loves to play games of every type and plays board games at the church with a group once a month.  Dave loves to read, with his favorite topics being theology, spirituality, and science fiction.  Dave is also a big fan of movies, especially science fiction and action.  Dave plays for the church softball team and encourages everyone to the same.  He also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do though he has had less time for the study over the last 10 years.
